To Mr. Nadziejko and My Classmates,
I would like to ask your permission to research and interview members of the Monroe County Special Olympics. If my idea is approved I would like to do interviews with the coaches and some parents if possible. My group is easy to get in touch with. I know several of the coaches, which as teachers and the different schools. The Waterloo High School coach, Gina Gunn, is a very close friend to my mom, she has no problem in having an interview with me about the sports. I also know a couple of the parents very well that help out and that have children in the Olympics.
My group is very safe, it’s a bunch of special education students coming together and playing sports. Also is legal, there is no bad judgment at these games. I know some about this group because my mom was an assistant coach a couple years back, and I have also done some research for my conformation class in eight grade. During the two times I have seen the Special Olympics I have not really been to a game, or helped out. I just know of the sports they do and the people that help out.
I would love to know more, and to find the history of the Special Olympics. I have unlimited access to my subculture, the reason for so much access is that I know the main coach of the high school Olympics very well. This coming friday is the first day that I will be seeing my subculure in action, the first game they play is bowling.

how easy will it be for you to gain acesss to these people ? but other than that interesting topic i didnt even know we had anything like that around here
great group, not many people know about this only the basics. you shud really get into the details
This is a great idea, just remember to stay detailed explain more about the different games and what the teammates endure to be apart of the team .
Goodluck.
great topic you can show how caring and helpful the people are that put it together
Love it! I think this as awesome. I worked with a student at my school that always attended the special Olympics events. It will be cool to hear about their experience throughout the years.

I think this is a very good group to write about. It's interesting and I think many people don't know much about the Special Olympics. I think researching this group will give us more insight about the people who comptete and what they have to go through.
Who's the coach, and at what high school? Where do these kids go and practice? Will you speak with their parents and volunteers? I woldn't go and interview the kids, they'll all be minors and it would be unethical.
This is awesome. Most people do not know much about this organization, so it'll be very educational for a lot of us. As long as you are sure you are able to have enough access, and are able to hold enough interviews with coaches as well as players, I believe you will have no problem with this. You seem to have everything already in order as to whom you can interview and where you can go to gather information. So looks like you are all set, great job!
This is a good topic. I can say that this will be very interesting because my sister was a special ed student and she participates in Special Olympics every year. She's 29, but if you like, I could give you her email address and you could interview her about her experience.
I would suggest that you talk about the different events that occur at Special Olympics and who can particiipate in the events. When do the Special Olympics take place and where?

I like this topic a lot. It really hits home for me because I have a sister in law who is mentally handicapped, and it can be challenging at times. Bellefontaine Place in Waterloo Illinois is the home where she lives. This may be a good place to find out about some more about your topic. Also the Human Support Center in Waterloo is a good place to look for information. They employ several mentally handicapped people and would probably know something about your topic. Good Luck!
this would be a good topic because theres alot to write about. you can ask the parents what they do to prepare their child for whatever event their in, you can also ask the parents how the children react, are they excited, nervous, or scared?
This is a good topic to use. Are you going to travel to more than one location that holds Special Olympic Events. It would be good if you could interview some coaches and people who put the event together.
